A seven-month-old baby girl survived three days alone with a bullet in her chest beside the bodies of her parents and toddler brother.
Argentines Francisco Lotero, 56, and Miriam Coletti, 23, shot their children before killing themselves after making an apparent suicide pact over fears about global warming.
Their son Francisco, two, died instantly after being hit in the back.
But their unnamed daughter cheated death after the bullet from her dad's handgun missed her vital organs.
Paramedics rushed her to hospital covered in blood when police alerted by worried neighbours discovered the massacre three days later.
The youngster is recovering in hospital in the town of Goya in the northern Argentine province of Corrientes, where doctors say she is out of danger.
Her parents said they feared the effects of global warming in a suicide note discovered by police.

Continental Airlines plans to cancel flights rather than risk stiff fines under new federal rules designed to punish carriers for delaying passengers.
CEO Jeff Smisek said Tuesday the result will be that passengers will have more trouble getting to their destinations.
A spokesman for the U.S. Transportation Department said airlines can avoid fines by doing a better job of scheduling flights and crews.
Under a Transportation Department rule taking effect next month, airlines can be fined up to $27,500 per passenger if planes are delayed three hours and passengers can't get off.
Smisek said many passengers on delayed flights "really want to go to LA or Mumbai, but the government by God says, 'We're going to fine you $27,500.' Here's what we're going to do: We're going to cancel the flight."
Normally, what happens is, customers purchase a service from a company. The customer either likes the service, or they don't like the service. If they don't like the service, the customer doesn't return, instead giving their business to an alternate provider of the same service.
That's how it works. Competition is always the driving motivation for business to offer low prices and quality service.
Continental's response is exactly the response we can expect from hospitals as well, once Obamacare is forced upon us. U.S. researchers estimate that an 18 percent tax on pizza and soda can push down U.S. adults' calorie intake enough to lower their average weight by 5 pounds (2 kg) per year.
The researchers, writing in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine on Monday, suggested taxing could be used as a weapon in the fight against obesity, which costs the United States an estimated $147 billion a year in health costs.
In a commentary, Drs. Mitchell Katz and Rajiv Bhatia of the San Francisco Department of Public Health said taxes are an appropriate way to correct a market that favors unhealthy food choices over healthier options.

The bones of a 14-year-old Southern California girl who vanished more than a year ago while walking to school were discovered in a rugged, remote area, authorities said Sunday, less than a week after a registered sex offender was charged with murdering another teenage girl who lived nearby.
The search for Amber Dubois had produced few leads until 17-year-old Chelsea King disappeared Feb. 25, last seen wearing running clothes in a park about 10 miles south of where Amber was last seen walking with a man. A body presumed to be Chelsea's was found in a shallow, lakeside grave five days after Chelsea disappeared.
John Albert Gardner III, 30, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to murdering Chelsea and raping or attempting to rape her and attempting to rape another woman in December, a potential death penalty case.
A spokesman for the San Diego County district attorney's office, Paul Levikow, declined to comment Sunday on the investigation into Amber's death.
Gardner was registered as a sex offender in Escondido, a north San Diego suburb, from January 2008 to January 2010, with some gaps, police say.
He served five years of a six-year prison term for molesting a 13-year-old neighbor in San Diego in 2000; he saw her at a bus stop and lured her to his home to watch movies. He completed parole in September 2008.
A court-appointed psychiatrist, Dr. Matthew Carroll, recommended the maximum sentence allowed under law for Gardner in 2000, calling him an "extremely poor candidate" for treatment and a "continued danger to underage girls in the community."
He faced a maximum sentence of nearly 11 years in prison under a plea agreement, but prosecutors urged six years.

Three Muslim cousins arrested for driving around shooting gay men; now facing hate crime charges Via Oakland Tribune
Three Hayward cousins are facing hate crime charges after a man was shot in the face with a BB gun because the attackers believed he was gay, according to San Francisco authorities.
Mohammad Habibzada, 24, Shafiq Hashemi, 21, and Sayed Bassam, 21, were arrested about 15 minutes after the shooting, when police spotted a car in the area that matched a description given by the victim. The suspects have addresses in Hayward.
Apparently, they were driving around videotaping similar attacks:
A video of the assault and other similar crimes was recorded by the attackers and is being held as evidence, assistant district attorney Brian Buckelew said.
How long until CAIR manages to get charges dropped? Three Muslims, driving around shooting men in the face because they are gay, all three being members of an evil ideology that calls for the death of homosexuals. Does anyone really believe the Hayward District Attorney will have the nads to charge Muslims with a hate crime? I'll actually be surprised if all charges aren't mysteriously dropped.

I noticed that there are a few comments suggesting that Jerry Day was incorrect for referring to the American Community Survey rather than the Census, but this is not accurate. The American Community Survey is conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau and it's silly to think that it's somehow not used in conjunction with the short form version. In fact, if it's NOT part of the U.S. Census, then the American Community Survey is even more out of line with the Constitution and no citizen has ANY obligation to answer a single question.

The confrontation came on a day when students around the state gathered to protest steep fee hikes, canceled classes and faculty furloughs. The protest, which is part of the Day of Action, comes at a time when the state is facing a $20 billion deficit.
Police fired rubber bullets into the ground in an effort to deter students, who stood toe-to-toe with officers.
Violence has also been reported at University of California, Santa Cruz.
David Kliger, campus provost at UC Santa Cruz, sent a message to the campus community warning of reports of protesters carrying clubs and knives. He said it also appears that someone smashed a car windshield with a metal pipe.

San Francisco high schools now giving college credits to 14 year-olds; for taking racist courses Via San Francisco Chronicle
San Francisco high school students, just months out of middle school, can start earning San Francisco State college credit this fall through a ninth-grade ethnic studies course.
At a school board meeting last week, the head of the university's Ethnic Studies program also promised that students would earn up to six college course credits for the high school freshman course - a rare opportunity for a 14-year-old.
So what's wrong with giving kids who are passionate about learning a chance to get ahead?
Well, it seems those aren't the kids the program is intended to reward:
The program is designed for students who might not otherwise be considering college as an option, said Jacob Perea, dean of the School of Education, who runs the Step to College program at San Francisco State.
"We're not really looking for the 4.4 (grade point average) students," he said. "We're looking for the 2.1 or 2.2 students."
Hey, but that's great if it challenges these kids to work harder to achieve a goal, isn't it?
Well, if only this was meant to challenge the kids. Unfortunately, not so much:
Students cannot fail the class. They either receive a "pass" grade or are withdrawn from the course if it appears they cannot pass, Perea said.
Oh well. So much for challenging our kids to work harder.
So, what's this all about then? If it's not intended to challenge the kids, or to give the kids who actually care a chance to get ahead, what's the point?
The ethnic studies course "encourages students to explore specific aspects of identity on personal, interpersonal and institutional levels and provides students with interdisciplinary reading, writing and analytical skills," district officials said in a news release about the expanded pilot program.
DOH! I should have guessed. It's nothing but another scheme to brain wash our youth.
"I don't ever learn about the accomplishments and contributions of the people who look like me and the members of my family," said Balboa High School freshman Monet Cathrina-Rescat Wilson during public comment at Tuesday's school board meeting. "How can I know who I can be if I don't know who I am? Ethnic studies provides me with the foundation to learn who I am."

Wait! I thought we weren't supposed to judge people based on what they look like. I thought we were all individuals. I thought we were all human beings. Aren't we supposed to be working toward a "color-blind" society?
Think about that. This girl apparently needs the government to step in and tell her who she is. And of course, somebody needs to make sure these kids realize what color they are, and who's side they're supposed to be on, and of course, how they're supposed to vote. I know just the teacher for the job:
