Mr. Pot Head demands that Starbucks kick customers out for doing something perfectly legal

Apparently Los Angeles City Councilman Mr. Pot Head Paul Koretz is scared of guns. Koretz is busy attacking Starbucks for daring to allow U.S. citizens to practice a Constitutionally legal right.

A Los Angeles councilman wants Starbucks to add another phrase to its no-shirt, no-service policy: no guns.

"Nothing has happened in Los Angeles yet, but I'm concerned about what could happen," Koretz said. "It is a frightening thought in terms of public safety of having people walking around armed.
Maybe it's because he is responsible for the fact that a good portion of Los Angeles citizens are running around town high on various sorts of drugs.

I'd have to agree that allowing druggies to run around town carrying weapons is not a great idea, but I'd suggest that the drug situation might be a better target for his concern. Drugs? No problem. Legal guns? Help! Run! Danger!

None of this is any surprise, coming from Mr. Pot Head Koretz. For anyone who's not familiar with his far-left, pacifist, anti-Bush rants in the past, I'll give you a few examples.

Koretz seems to spend most of his spare time repeating the previous night's Keith Olbermann show. It's so creepy, I'm wondering if Olbermann should consider obtaining a restraining order on the man. Here's a few of Koretz' quotes from an op-ed he wrote for WeHoNews.com in 2007 [Emphasis added]:

"Another inhumane action by the Bush Administration? I guess I shouldn’t have been so surprised. This is the same President who lied to get us into the disastrous war in Iraq for his own purposes, and whose use of torture has embarrassed us in the eyes of the world."

"Since there doesn’t seem to be a way to win in Iraq, he has declared war on a target less able to fight back—the sick and the dying. Shutting down medical marijuana dispensaries is shockingly pointless and cruel. Have you no shame, Mr. President?"

"Right now, it is 727 days, 11 hours, 48 minutes and 10 seconds until President Bush’s last day. Not that anyone is counting."
SERIOUSLY?! Does this guy tape each show and then write Olbermann's quotes down in his journal for his own use later on?

Koretz also sponsored AB352:

AB352, legislation sponsored by Assembly Member Paul Koretz (D-42), that would require that after a certain date, the make, model, and serial number be microstamped onto the interior surface or internal working parts of all handguns in such a manner that those identifiers are imprinted onto the cartridge case upon firing, was defeated in the closing minutes of the session last night. Per AB352, Handguns that did not include their identifying information would be defined as “unsafe,” and their manufacture, sale, and transfer would be a crime.
IF you're not convinced already, Koretz just happens to be the lunatic who introduced amendments to Assembly Joint Resolution No. 39. What were these amendments calling for, you ask?

California Assemblyman Paul Koretz of Los Angeles (where the LA Times has now called for Cheney's resignation) has submitted amendments to Assembly Joint Resolution No. 39, calling for the impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney.
It's impossible to get bored with this guy. The entertainment just keeps coming ...

Democratic Assemblyman Paul Koretz had called bans on gay marriage "the last frontier of bigotry and discrimination."
Maybe Mr. Pot Head ought to be more concerned with keeping guns and drugs out of the hands of criminals and gang members, instead of innocent law abiding citizens who simply want to have the ability to protect themselves from lunatics who do things like this on a daily basis in his own district.

E-mail Mr. Pot Head at paul.koretz@lacity.org and let him know how you feel
