Press Secretary for President with most camera time in history mocks White House press for posing for cameras
Via Politico

Apparently, Gibbs would rather the press simply print whatever Obama asks them to, and stop wasting time actually questioning him.

Press secretary Robert Gibbs chided the White House press
corps Sunday, saying that some of its members are more interested in camera time than reporting.

“I wonder at times what it would be like” at his daily briefings “if we turned the cameras off, and we could just have a discussion,” Gibbs said on CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” likening the events to a “cable TV show.”

“I sometimes joke that I know when somebody thinks they have a good question, because when I walk in they've already got their makeup on.”

Obama's Astroturf Anti-Tea Party group walks around Tea Party with sign and claims it's their own rally?

As reported on Redstate on Sunday, the leftist hacks have created another fake grassroots website called 'The Other 95%.'

The website purports to be authentically grassroots, though one must wonder when the last time was any grassroots activist took the time to defend the government.

The designer is affilated with MoveOn.org and other leftwing sites and causes.

But most notable, the donations page makes donations out to Democracy in Action. Democracy in Action is not for individual activists to use. It is for small and medium sized 501(c)(3) organizations and others on the left. Among its clients? ACORN, True Majority, NAACP, and others.

How pathetic is this group? Apparently, so pathetic that they have to gather all 16 of their members together and parade a sign through the middle of an actual Tea Party, taking photos to make it look as though the entire rally is their own. They then post the photos to their website and rant about how successful their rally was.

Embarrassing. How stupid does someone have to be to fall for this nonsense?

Photos: Sacramento Tax-Day Tea Party; Special bonus photos of loser going to jail

They were ready, just in case some of us right-wing, radical, terrorists had acted up.

This was the only real excitement today. As I was leaving the Tea Party, this loser almost knocked me down running by me from behind, followed closely by another dude chasing him. Apparently, he had just robbed a jewelery store. The guy chasing him tackled him just moments later in an alley and several Sacramento Police officers quickly had him under control. It's not often you find yourself just a few feet away from an incident like this, and just happen to have your camera in your hand.

What sort of moron robs a jewelery store during an event requiring cops on every corner?

Guess what he was saying. No kidding!

"I didn't do nuttin!"

Dude talking to me (gray sweatshirt) while I took this shot is the guy who chased him down and laid him out. Great job!

You can't see her in this shot, but there's an absolutely gorgeous police canine barking up a storm in the back seat. It might have been fun to see her tackle the moron. The guy who tackled him is in the gray sweatshirt.

Heh. Spiderman backpack. What an infant.

YOU LIE: $3.9 billion tax increase on the middle class - in one year alone
Via The Hill

Hey, remember this?

Somewhere, Joe Wilson is laughing.

Taxpayers earning less than $200,000 a year will pay roughly $3.9 billion more in taxes — in 2019 alone — due to healthcare reform, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation, Congress's official scorekeeper.

The healthcare law contains tax breaks for individuals purchasing health insurance, but the breaks phase out for those making $88,000 a year.

Couples earning less than $250,000 will also nicked by the tax, but the exact number is unclear. The JCT lumps this income level in with those making at least $500,000. It estimates that 58,000 taxpayers earning between $200,000 and $500,000 annually will pay $74 million more in taxes in 2019.

Irony: Famous Senator who believes in taxing everything now really angry that airlines want to charge for everything
Via AFP

Democratic US Senator Chuck Schumer has warned he may
introduce legislation to bar airlines from imposing fees for carry-on luggage, joining a congressional chorus of outrage at such charges.

Schumer urged US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner in a letter Friday to repeal a regulation that may encourage such fees by exempting services not deemed "reasonably necessary" -- like providing in-flight snacks -- from taxes.

Is there anything the government feels they shouldn't get involved in? The bottom line is that consumers ultimately have the power to put a stop to this. Passengers will eventually stop using airlines that use such tactics and the competition will eventually lead to lower prices. If government does insist on banning such fees, the airlines will simply jack up standard prices to make up the difference.

I wouldn't expect someone like Schumer to grasp such a simple concept.

First money quote:

"Peanuts may not be reasonably necessary for air travel,
but the ability to carry a bag onto a flight is," Schumer wrote

Says the man who wants to force every living person to purchase a specific product ... simply for being born.

Second money quote:

"What will the airlines think up next, a fee for reclining your seat?" said Menendez, lead author of a measure to require airline and travel websites to provide such information to travelers before they book their tickets.

Don't give Chucky Schumer any ideas. You can bet he'll find a way to tax the number of times you lift the seat of your toilet.

Thugtastic! Alan Grayson acts like mafia thug; Interrupts Republican District Meeting
Via Tea Party Patriots

On Thursday, April 8th, 2010, Congressman Alan Grayson, Democrat in Florida’s 8th district, interrupted a district meeting of the local Orange County Republican Executive Committee. The meeting was being held at Perkins, a family restaurant.

Matthew Falconer, candidate for Orange County Mayor, quickly challenged Alan’s rudeness. Grayson demanded not to be interrupted, but Falconer quickly reminded the congressman that he is in fact interrupting their meeting.

Linda O’Keefe, member of the Orange County Republican Executive Committee and extraordinary patriot volunteer with the Orlando Tea Party said, “I’m wondering if Grayson realizes that we do still, for now, have the right to assemble! But can’t we have a meeting without being interrupted by our congressman?”

In another video, Alan Grayson (at 3:00 in the video) challenged the female recording the video and abruptly leaves.

Texas Sheriff to citizens of border town: "Arm yourselves"
Via NPR

Last week, residents held a town-hall meeting in Fort Hancock, Texas — a sleepy agricultural town on the border, about an hour southeast of El Paso, that looks like the bleak set of No Country for Old Men.

A couple hundred people crowded into the grade-school gym to hear a chilling message from Hudspeth County Sheriff Arvin West.

"You farmers, I'm telling you right now, arm yourselves," he said. "As they say the old story is, it's better to be tried by 12 than carried by six. Damn it, I don't want to see six people carrying you."

His warning was prompted by the killing of the Arizona rancher, and the spiraling violence a couple of miles away in Mexico in a region known as the Valley of Juarez. The notorious smuggling territory is being fought over by the Sinaloan and the Juarez cartels.

"One of the men that works for me had five people killed in front of his house over there [in Mexico] this past weekend," says Curtis Carr, who is a farmer and county commissioner. "And he's moving his family over here this week. It's serious over there. Whether or not it's gonna spill over here, I don't know."

Arizona House approves bill allowing concealed weapons without a permit
Via Associated Press

I'm moving to Arizona.

The Arizona House voted Thursday to make the state the third in the nation to allow people to carry concealed weapons without a permit, sending the governor a bill that would allow Arizonans to forego background checks and classes that are now required.

The legislation, approved by the House 36-19 without discussion, would make it legal for most U.S. citizens 21 or older to carry a concealed weapon in Arizona without the permit now required.

Sen. Russell Pearce, a Mesa Republican who sponsored the measure, said last week that he added changes requested by Gov. Jan Brewer's office, an indication that she is likely to sign it.

If the legislation is enacted, Arizona would join Alaska and Vermont in not requiring permits to carry concealed weapons.

I'd love to hear what John McCain thinks about this. I believe I'm going to give his office a call tomorrow. If I get a response, I'll update this post. Stay tuned.

YOU LIE! Are Census workers simply 'making up' data now?
Via Associated Press

[Emphasis added]
Placing a cap on costs if immigrants try to evade the count, the response plan notes that a census worker will attempt to visit a home six times at most — or fewer, if a resident makes clear he won't cooperate — before the worker questions neighbors to get the information. If that fails, the Census Bureau will statistically impute data based on characteristics of neighboring households.

In 2000, imputation, a statistical method that was not part of previous court battles over statistical sampling, increased the U.S. population by 1.1 million, particularly among urban racial minorities who would have been missed by a head count.

Conservatives who refuse to participate may also be counted by way of neighbor questioning or statistical imputation.

With this news, I now wonder why the need to answer a single question? Does anyone really believe that "700,000 temporary workers", most of which have almost assuredly taken 'The Obama Pledge', would not simply enter whatever number necessary to obtain the results needed to best benefit their Messiah or their own local district?

I'd be interested to know how many current of former ACORN workers are now working for the Census.

World turned upside down: FEDS now sending agents out to help illegal aliens find jobs and to make sure they're paid well
Via Contra Costa Times

Armed with coffee, not handcuffs, investigators from the U.S. Department of Labor chatted warmly with Latino immigrant workers about how to find jobs without being exploited.

"We're the feds, but the good ones," said Paul Ramirez, speaking in Spanish inside the Michael Chavez Center, a gathering spot for day laborers. "We're here to help workers."
